Natalie Owen
Natalie Owen grew up in The Colony and played an array of sports at Lakeview Middle School. Natalie went to The Colony High School where she was a 4 year varsity letterman in volleyball and pole vaulter on the track team. While in high school she received numerous recognitions such as Offensive Player of the Year, Hitter of the Year, 2nd Team all District, and Team Captain. She went on to play her freshman season at Paris Junior College before transfering to DBU as a sophomore. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Natalie played volleyball for DBU as a utility hitter. (Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, and Right Side Hitter). Coach Natalie's philosophy has always been that she would rather be on the court playing a position she didn't know very well than sitting on the sidelines. This helped her grow in her knowledge of the game and gave her more opportunities to learn and get better!
She played club volleyball at Dallas Synergy and actually played with Haley, Ronda Cluff's (TVA Director) daughter! During their 17U season, they qualified for and competed at Nationals! After college Natalie coached club for 2 years at LoneStar Volleyball Club in Frisco before taking a break from coaching to start her teaching career. She has worked with us at TVA since 2022! When she's not coaching volleyball, Natalie teaches 3rd grade at an elementary school in Carrollton and spends time with her husband Matt and their dog, Ivy!
Fun fact: Natalie played against a professional Chilean team while on a mission trip to Chile with her college volleyball team.
